BioDavid Hall originally trained as an actor and voice teacher. His work in these areas led him to the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method. He qualified as an Alexander Teacher in 1986 and as a Feldenkrais Practitioner in 1990. These modalities form the core of his practice, however the real foundation of his work lies in the continuous enquiry he has made into his own life experience over the last thirty years. Along with running a private practice, David has run workshops and classes for corporations such as IBM, The Reserve Bank, CSIRO, ABC TV, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra , The Australian National Teachers of Singing Association and NIDA. He has been a member of the Training Accreditation Board for the Feldenkrais Guild and the Alexander Technique Training Course Board for AUSTAT. In 1997 he became a Feldenkrais Assistant Trainer. He began training in Salsa and Samba with Maestro Jose Prates in 1999. In 2000 he established 'Bang Bang Salsa' dance school in Sydney's Northern Beaches. The classes at Bang Bang Salsa utilise the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method along with movement ideas from Afro-Cuban dance and a variety of theatrical movement traditions. David lives and works in Sydney's Northern Beaches with his wife and three children. |
